We keep things simple This house was built in 1890 and we bought it when it was 100 years old. Over the years we’ve settled into this place rather than changing it to fit us.
Vintage hand-me-down furniture Much of what surrounds us has a lot of history. A lot of stuff is from my grandmother’s house. We love vintage.
Kitchen space solution I built our kitchen units to fit the awkward space rather than remodel the room.
Bedroom space solution In the master bedroom we don’t have a lot of floor space, so we use the walls to hang shelves for display space and storage.
Start a building club We’re part of a group of five friends who take turns to go to each other’s houses and work. As a reward, whoever’s house it is cooks everyone dinner that night. We recently all built a new stone wall at our house.
